Yoga is more than stretching, bending, breathing and relaxing. A deeper understanding can only be gained through its application in everyday life and by analysing the philosophy of yoga: Patanjali’s ten yogic life recommendations form the basis for finding personal meaning and courageous coexistence. A happy and fulfilled life can be traced back to fundamental values that also harbour the power of right, courageous action.
In the morning programmes, Alexander Kobs shows us how we can put non-violence, truthfulness and modesty into practice in today’s world. Traditional and personal stories as well as numerous examples from public life paint a vivid picture of the timeless wisdom of yoga ethics. These morning impulses will accompany us through the festival day.
Alexander Kobs first encountered yoga at the end of the 1980s. Several years spent in meditation centres in the USA, India and Germany helped to deepen his knowledge of yoga. He is the author of “Yoga Purification Shatkarma – Detoxify and Rejuvenate with Yoga and Ayurveda” and “The 10 Life Recommendations of Yoga – Living Consciously with the Yamas and Niyamas”.
